Our parish is very excited to be offering a Family Program for our families with children in Grades 5 and below. We will be partnering with parents to encourage families to grow in faith together within the home. Here is the setup for each month:
Week 1 - Family Gathering: Families will gather for a monthly kick off. This will be a fun and engaging time for families to learn about the monthly topic and then meet in age level groups to dig a little deeper. Parents- there will be groups for you too!
Week 2/3 - Home Family Meetings: For the next two weeks, families will participate in family meetings and activities at home. Guidance and materials will be provided for you and are designed to be fun and to bring your family closer together. We will be here to support you and answer any questions you may have at any time. Parents, please know that YOU CAN DO THIS and we will be walking with you all along the way. We are not just sending you home with things to do and leaving you on your own- we are doing this together!! You won’t be sent home with a textbook to cover with your children- you will be provided with conversation starters, activities, and games to explore the faith together in a way that is engaging for the whole family!
Week 4 - Family Mass: At the end of each month we will gather for a Family Mass. We invite families and children to participate in these Family Masses as greeters, lectors, money collectors, altar servers, and any other ways you would like! Following Mass we will have a social to celebrate all that we have engaged in throughout the month.
Gathering times: The Family Program will meet in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Hall. Families can choose one of the following monthly meeting times:
- Sundays, 9:30-10:45am
- Mondays, 6-7:15pm
- Tuesday, 6-7:15pm (bilingual)
- Wednesdays, 6-7:15pm
The Family Program will begin the week of October 3.
